Amanda was born and raised in Emmett, Idaho on her family farm. After graduating from high school, she attended Boise Bible College (BBC) where she acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies. At the age of 20, she was hired on as a Children's Minister at a local church in Boise. She also met her now husband, Kevin Bates, in Boise and they married August 4, 2001. After finishing her degree, she and Kevin moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where Kevin took an Associate Pastor position at Redwood Christian Church. She chose to become the Youth Ministry Leader at Redwood and loved it. Two of her youth eventually became a part of the Resonate team, joining in to plant the church. In Grants Pass she also taught an abstinence program in all middle and high schools in the area for five years.

As the Lead Planters for Resonate, she and Kevin have been praying for Resonate since 2005, waiting and watching for God's plan. In preparation for this plant she pursued her Master’s in Business Administration from Harding University. She currently serves at Resonate as the Associate Pastor of Administration and Families.

Working alongside the mission and vision of Resonate, she is one of the owners of Symposium Coffee. As a barista, she has the opportunity to love the community across the coffee bar! She and Kevin also have a daughter, Nittaya, who keeps them running. Amanda enjoys reading, walk/running, cross country skiing, snow shoeing, hiking, bicycling, cuddling up by the fire with a good book, watching adventure movies and Downton Abby, going on dates with her husband, having people at their house, helping in Nittaya's classroom, serving on various boards and committees in the community, and talking with current and to-be friends.

"I have given my life, my time, my money, my love and my mind. I will give it all for the One I love."
